For those of you that have owned a Chromebook, you have felt the pain of having to type in your Gmail account password everytime you want to use your Chromebook. Sometimes you just want to leave the Chromebook on and open just to avoid that hassle! Well that is changing very soon thanks to the good ol’ developers at Google.
If you like tinkering with your technology, go ahead and update your Chromebook to the latest Developer Update and follow these instructions:
All you have to do is enable the flag chrome://flags/#quick-unlock-pin, restart Chrome, and go to Chrome Material Design settings page for now to set up your Lock Screen PIN in the new “Screen Lock” section. When it’s done, lock your screen with 🔍 + L and enjoy the new unlock experience!
Having the option of using a quick unlock PIN alleviates some of the time you would waste typing your complex email password and make life stress free. Hopefully this is made available for all the consumers so we can call unlock our Chromebooks in peace!
